Description

Max City Valley of Words Literature Festival was held in Mumbai on 01 & 02 March, 2025. India’s only litfest which discusses geopolitical, business and economical ‘Issues That Engage Us As A Nation.' The festival features eminent authors and personalities over two days of discussions at the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), a heritage institution in Mumbai, and in the prestigious Kitabkhana.

Calling India’s epics “mythology” is a colonial misrepresentation. These texts—our Itihasa—are not fiction, but civilizational memory and ancient history. This mislabeling was part of a deliberate effort to sever Indians from their intellectual heritage. Unlike the fragmented records of the West, India preserved vast Sanskrit knowledge—science, medicine, philosophy—rooted in pluralism and continuity. Our influence across Southeast Asia proves this legacy was real, not imagined. The colonial education system disconnected us from this truth. Reclaiming our narrative means building our own frameworks and respecting our heritage. Let us revive our creative spirit and honor the Maha Vakyas—not just as philosophy, but as a call to reclaim who we are.
